Lately I've come across a lot of art that combines big chunks of found images to make new images. Not in that dainty x-acto knife Max Ernst way, but using big rectangular images and drawing on them or around them, or just combining them...

Bee pointed out some album cover collages by Christian Marclay that were in Elle Magazine this month. Marclay does a lot of other stuff too...like the incredible Video Quartet and long accordion at Paula Cooper Gallery.

I wish I'd seen this show of William Wegman's new paintings at Sperone Westwater last month. First I heard of it was when I saw this painting in Harpers.
