Oh my god, Lorelai and Digger's date was so damn hot, I think I'll watch it again. I love TiVo.

Oh, and did I mention Paris tongue-kissing Michael York? This show just got ten times more awesome. But I will not feel complete until Rory and Paris realize their forbidden love.

I accidentally left my husband in Spain. So now there is nothing I can do but mope around jetlagged and sad in our apartment (and sometimes in Jamie's apartment, where there is some really amazing composing going on, and also there is tea and a high tolerance for other people's sulky wives hanging around the place).

But even though he is in Spain, my husband is the best ever. Here is the love letter he wrote me today, which is so touching and beautiful that I had to share it with the world.

-------

While walking along Carrer Arago I had a sudden thought. It was: what if Leontine was an octopus? Octopi have those very large brains, so it is possible that an octopus could be as witty and scintillating as Leontine. However, my lifestyle would probably have to change if, tomorrow, Leontine was an octopus. Here´s what I think I´d do:

* Stroke you on your large, bulbous head and stare into your googly eyes
* Move to Rockaway and build an unusual house that infiltrates sea water into channels taking up half the width of each hallway via a system of irrigation-like passages
* Order deliveries of fresh fish, snails and other small sea creatures
* Buy one of those waterproof PCs and install it in a pool in the living room
* Build you a robotic exoskeleton to allow you to walk on land!

In conclusion, after thinking about it for quite some time, I decided that yes, I would certainly love Leontine if she was an octopus. While the relationship would present some unusual challenges, I believe we could overcome them with sufficient love, effort and creativity. The only real complication would be that New York might not recognize a human-octopus marriage, but hey, we could always get married in Canada.

Some things that we love about Barcelona

Bread that is toasted and rubbed with olive oil, garlic and tomato.

Small sandwiches and tiny cups of coffee, especially the ones served at Central Cafe, where you sit at a long counter with your back to the street.

Parc Guell. My favorite place in the world.

Gaudi´s buildings and pretty much every other building too.

Taking a siesta evey day from 2 to 4.

Sometimes they play ¨Close to Me¨in the subway.

A restaurant that serves only desserts. CRAZY desserts!

Even the sidewalk is pretty.

And there are digital signs telling you when the next train will arrive. What more could we want from life?

Tonight we had the first non-delicious meal we´ve had since we got to Barcelona. If you are ever here, and you are tempted by a restaurant called "origens," with really sexy graphic design and an intriguing menu claiming that some of its recipes date back to the 13th century invention of Catalonian cuisine, just say no. It´s all very fascinating to read about, but when the food arrives, you´ll wish you were at a Dennys in Des Moines. Seriously. It sucked.

I never answered the questions that people had about the Spencer Tunick shoot, and I promised that I would. So here we go.

What did you do after the photo shoot?

We could have stayed at the station and talked with Mr. Tunick, but we were very tired and hungry. So we took a taxi to a 24-hour diner and had a big breakfast. Bee found a very fancy purse in the taxi, which apparently belonged (the purse, not the taxi) to a very beautiful girl with a Turkish drivers license. There was a fight at the diner and the cops came, but for some reason we didn´t give them the purse. After breakfast, we went home.

How do 450 people get home at 3am!

It was more like 4:30 a.m. The subways and buses run all night in New York, and there is not a lot of competition for cabs at that hour. 450 people can disperse pretty quickly. Once we´d walked about two blocks, we didn´t see anybody else from the shoot. Or anybody at all for that matter, except for a very belligerent homeless man and some guys unloading newspapers in front of a bodega.

Apart from your friends that you went with, did you meet anyone else you knew?

One friend of Bee´s. I don´t remember her name, but she is very tall and beautiful with blond dreadlocks and she rides a scooter.

What reactions have you had from people that you told afterwards?

People who had heard of Spencer Tunick thought it was an excellent thing to have done. Other people thought it was very funny and cool. One of my pals at work was very put off by it, but he handled himself well. People who hadn´t heard about the shoot thought I was probably just making shit up. It is pretty hard to believe, after all.

Jessica wrote something very nice about my wedding. I mean, Sascha´s and my wedding. Our wedding. The wedding on Sunday, which was beautiful.

(Rebecca had a good time too!)

Yes, I am getting married in less than a week!

On Saturday, Sascha and I tried on our rings, and I really didn't want to take mine off. And now I miss it. I think that is a very good sign!
